| MC Alarms offer their customers
two Maintenance Options:
| Option 1: Preventative
Maintenance |
| This agreement provides the basic essentials,
which includes preventative maintenance visits during
the life of the contract to check and test the alarm
system. These routine maintenance checks should be carried
out at intervals not exceeding 6 months. These visits
will take place during normal working hours 9am to 5.30pm
Monday to Friday. The provision of our 24 Hour Emergency
Call Out Service is very expensive to maintain. This
service requires the company to have personnel on standby,
during and outside office hours with transport and communication
facilities, therefore those customers who only agree
to the Preventative Maintenance Option will be subject
to a charge for any call outs required. These charges
vary depending on time of day or night, holidays, distance
to and from etc.

Installation, Monitoring ,
Maintenance and Insurance
INSTALLATION:
All systems installed by MC Alarms are installed with strict
compliance to IS: 199: 1987 (and I.S.228 in as much as it refers
to signaling equipment used in intruder alarm systems). To this
effect an inspector for the National Standards Authority of
Ireland (NSAI) may at some time in the future inspect the system
installed and maintained, after contact with you and agreement
as to day, time etc
The system installed by MC Alarms will be certified as complying
with the Irish Standard 199:1987 and you will be issued with
a Certificate to this effect by us on completion of system
installation. However, this certificate is effective for just
twelve months unless we enter into a maintenance agreement
with you in order to maintain the effective running of your
system. If you do not enter into a maintenance contract with
MC Alarms then your alarm system will cease to be in compliance
with the above standards after the lapse of one year from
the date of installation.
Certification is mandatory for all systems. It is MC Alarm’s
policy to certify all systems installed by us as this will
provide assurance that your system fully meets the standards
to which all alarm systems in Ireland must be installed.
It is the policy of MC Alarms to ensure that before certification
of your alarm system, you will receive a period of operation
instructions on your new alarm system. This is intended to
eliminate the possibility of incorrect handling of the system,
which would result in false alarms.
MONITORING:
For the purpose of monitoring the Modem Digital Communicator
is connected and commissioned to TOP SECURITY LTD., which is
a Grade A Central Monitoring Station meeting the requirements
of I.S.228: “Monitoring Centres for Alarm Systems”.
Licence No. R6/25626K issued by the institute of Industrial
Research and Standards. In the event of Public Telephone Line
failure the Digital Communicator will be unable to report the
Central Monitoring Station. However, when the system is armed,
the external and internal warning devices will operate after
a period of 30 seconds of line disconnection. To enhance the
protection afforded, at your request, a Long Range Transmitter
may be fitted to the system, which will report to the Central
Monitoring Station.
MAINTENANCE:
In the absence of proof of the existence of a maintenance procedure
complying with clause 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 of I.S. 199:1987, the
alarm system will cease to be in compliance with that standard.
INSURANCE:
An alarm system no matter how well designed and installed cannot
be construed as a substitute for Insurance. MC Alarms have not
been give any special knowledge of the nature and value of the
premises or the degree to which the premises and its contents
will from time to time be exposed to risk. Accordingly the installation
and service charges cannot in any way be deemed to relate to
any such value or risk. It is in the customer’s own interest
to obtain adequate Insurance against relevant risks including
damage to the Alarm System. The schedule of work should, in
your own interest, be formally approved by your Insurance Company. |
